Why name BRUJA ART?
Only after reading the book "Born to run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen" by Christopher Mc Dougall, have I made my choice for artistic name. BRUJA is a nick name one of the story characters. No, it is not a book about art and philosophy, but it tells the story about human endurance, compassion for others and many more.
This dedication and struggle of finishing 'the Race' is the perfect depiction of my work ethics, connecting body and soul, always thriving.
The art of decorating, giving a personal mark and beautifying one’s body, is a kind of ritual as old as the world itself.
Through this process we search for the spiritual, for what is beyond nature, our identity.
In pursuit of a strong spiritual connection with our body, the magic of rituals gives the deeper meaning to tattoo and piercing art, which almost always have an aesthetic purpose, but which at the same time represent the creativity, culture and tradition of nations all around the world.
A body devoid of marks is a silent body. Body art enables it to communicate in a fine language and becomes an active part of the social body, revealing a new world between myth and mystery.
“I wish you could see my true nature.Beyond my body and labels, there is a river of tenderness and vulnerability.Beyond stereotypes and assumptions, there is a valley of openness and authenticity.Beyond memory and ego, there is an ocean of awareness and compassion.”
